The State Law Enforcement Division charged two 19-year-old men with strong-arm robbery and criminal conspiracy following an investigation requested by the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged two York County men with strong-arm robbery and criminal conspiracy, according to SLED.
Tyler Maurice McDowell, 19, and Trevor Zain Demby, 19, were both charged Friday, July 17, 2026, with strong-arm robbery and criminal conspiracy, according to SLED.
The investigation was requested by the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, according to SLED. Details of the charges are contained in warrants attached to the release.
Demby and McDowell were booked into the Fairfield County Detention Center, according to SLED.
The case will be prosecuted by the 6th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, according to SLED.
