A 46-year-old man faces four felony charges after a South Carolina Department of Insurance-requested investigation, according to SLED.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged Christopher John Angulo, 46, of Horry County, with two counts of presenting a false claim for insurance valued at $10,000 or more and two counts of obtaining a signature or property under false pretenses valued at $10,000 or more, according to SLED.
The charges were filed Tuesday, July 28, 2026, according to SLED.
The South Carolina Department of Insurance requested the SLED investigation, according to SLED.
Angulo was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County, according to SLED.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance, according to SLED.
