A 38-year-old man faces multiple counts of presenting false insurance claims following an investigation requested by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged Jacob Nathaniel Lockhart, 38, with three counts of presenting a false claim for insurance payment valued at $10,000 or more and one count of presenting a false claim for insurance payment valued at more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, according to SLED.
The charges were filed Wednesday, July 22, 2026, according to SLED.
The South Carolina Department of Insurance requested the SLED investigation, according to SLED.
Lockhart was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County, according to SLED.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance, according to SLED.
