The S.C. State Library is displaying a traveling exhibit on the 1781 siege of Fort Motte through Aug. 31, according to the S.C. State Library.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina State Library is hosting a new traveling exhibit examining the history and archaeology of Fort Motte, according to the S.C. State Library.
The exhibit, titled “The History and Archaeology of Fort Motte,” is on loan courtesy of the South Carolina State Museum, according to the State Library. It was developed by the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum.
Fort Motte was a British outpost during the Revolutionary War located in present-day Calhoun County, South Carolina, according to the State Library. The exhibit examines the 1781 siege of the fort, the excavation of the site, and artifacts uncovered there.
The display includes 13 panels, 12 reproduction objects for display, and 14 reproduction objects for hands-on learning, according to the State Library.
The exhibit will remain on display through Aug. 31 at the South Carolina State Library, 1500 Senate St. in Columbia. The library is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to the State Library.
