The South Carolina Department of Education is seeking public comment on its application to the U.S. Department of Education to participate in the Educational Flexibility, or Ed-Flex, Program, according to the South Carolina Department of Education.
The Ed-Flex Program is authorized under the Every Student Succeeds Act. It allows eligible state educational agencies to approve certain waivers of federal education requirements for local educational agencies, schools and educational service agencies while maintaining accountability for student achievement, according to the South Carolina Department of Education.
The public notice was issued July 6, 2026, according to the South Carolina Department of Education.
