SLED Charges Barnwell County Man in Breach of Trust Case

The State Law Enforcement Division charged a 62-year-old Barnwell County man with two counts of financial fraud following an investigation requested by local sheriff’s deputies.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on Monday charged Scott Dwayne Brown, 62, with two counts of breach of trust with fraudulent intent involving amounts between $2,000 and $10,000, according to SLED.

The Barnwell County Sheriff’s Office had requested that SLED investigate the case, according to the agency.

Brown was booked into the Barnwell County Detention Center, SLED said.

The 2nd Circuit Solicitor’s Office will prosecute the case, according to SLED.
