Angela Peterson and Sherika Reid Myles face charges after an investigation requested by the Coastal Regional Center.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged Angela Peterson, also known as Angela Poynter, 46, and Sherika Reid Myles, 41, with neglect of a vulnerable adult on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026, according to SLED.
The Coastal Regional Center requested the SLED investigation, according to SLED. The center is operated by the Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Peterson and Reid Myles were booked into the Dorchester County Detention Center, according to SLED.
The case will be prosecuted by the 1st Circuit Solicitor’s Office, according to SLED.
