The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged Khamanti Lytrel Kennedy, 18, with murder for a second time in connection with a February shooting at South Carolina State University that killed two people.

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged Khamanti Lytrel Kennedy, 18, of Orangeburg County, with murder on Wednesday, according to SLED.
The investigation was requested by the South Carolina State University Department of Public Safety, according to SLED. Kennedy was served with the charge at the Orangeburg County Detention Center, where he is being held, according to SLED.
SLED previously charged Kennedy with murder on Feb. 17 in connection with a shooting at South Carolina State University on Feb. 12, according to SLED. The case will be prosecuted by the 1st Circuit Solicitor’s Office, according to SLED.
The shooting occurred inside a room in the Hugine Suites housing complex on the university’s campus, according to SLED. Two people were killed and one person was injured, according to SLED.
The Orangeburg County Coroner identified the deceased as Henry L. Crittington, 19, and Terrell Thomas, 18, according to SLED.
