SLED Charges Richland County Man with Second-Degree Assault and Battery

A 71-year-old man was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center after an investigation requested by Lexington police.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged Ralph Eugene Baker, 71, of Richland County, with second-degree assault and battery on Wednesday, according to SLED.

The Town of Lexington Police Department requested the investigation, SLED said.

Baker was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center, according to SLED.

The 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office will prosecute the case, SLED said.
