The Institute of Museum and Library Services-sponsored exhibit will be free and open to the public at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds for two days.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina State Library is set to host the Freedom Truck, a mobile museum sponsored by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, according to the South Carolina State Library.
The Freedom Truck is a custom-built, fully mobile museum housed in a semi-truck that offers exhibits on American history, according to the State Library.
The truck will be open to visitors free of charge on September 1 and 2, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds, 1200 Rosewood Dr. in Columbia, according to the State Library.
Visitors will also be able to explore the SC250 Revolutionary South Carolina Discovery Center, a separate, permanent exhibit created by the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission that highlights the state’s role in the American Revolution, according to the State Library. The center will be located next to the Freedom Truck.
The Freedom Truck visit is part of a broader partnership between the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the State Library, according to the State Library. Through federal funding under the Library Services and Technology Act, the State Library administers grants to public libraries statewide that support technology upgrades, workforce development, digital literacy, early literacy initiatives, professional development for library staff and other local projects, according to the State Library.
