State Election Commission Outlines Four Ways to Update Voter Registration

The S.C. Election Commission says voters can update their registration information online, by mail, by fax, by email or in person at county offices.

Based on a release from S.C. Election Commission.

Voters can update their registration information through four methods, according to the S.C. Election Commission.

Voters may submit an online voter registration form, but online registration requires a South Carolina driver’s license or Department of Motor Vehicles ID card, according to the commission. Voters must first update their information with the DMV before submitting the online form.

Voters can also download a change of address form, print it and fill it out, according to the commission. The completed form can then be mailed or faxed to the voter’s county board of voter registration, or scanned and emailed as a file attachment to the county voter registration office.

A third option is to fill out the back of a voter registration card and mail it to the county voter registration office, the commission said.

Voters may also visit their county voter registration office in person and fill out a change of address form there, according to the commission.

The commission’s website provides a tool to find county voter registration offices, along with a downloadable change of address form.
