The South Carolina State Library has made available its complete list of April electronic South Carolina state publications, according to the South Carolina State Library. The publications are accessible through the South Carolina Digital State Documents Depository, which provides electronic access to state agency publications, according to the library.
Among the April releases is the Gullah/Geechee CREATE Coastal Art Showcases 2026 catalog, according to the library. The catalog features 11 artists highlighted in showcases across the Lowcountry earlier this year.
The Gullah/Geechee CREATE program was established by the Gullah/Geechee Nation, the Gullah Geechee Chamber of Commerce and the Gullah Preservation Society in partnership with the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium, according to the library. The program works with Gullah Geechee and Black artists in South Carolina to upcycle marine debris into works of art, using materials collected at clean-up events to evoke environmental stewardship, marine education and maritime cultural heritage, according to the library.
The South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium was established in 1978 to manage and administer the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Sea Grant College Program for South Carolina and adjacent regions, according to the library. The consortium’s purpose is to generate and provide science-based information to improve the social and economic well-being of coastal residents and to ensure the optimal use and conservation of marine and coastal natural resources, according to the library.
The State Library said the digital depository provides citizens with information about state government, including statistics, reports and data on a range of topics. More information is available through the library’s online guide, according to the library.
