GREENVILLE, S.C. — State Sen. Karl Allen, D-Greenville, said Isuzu North America Corporation has chosen Greenville County as the site of its new U.S. production base, according to the S.C. Democratic Party.
The company’s $280 million investment will create more than 700 new jobs, according to Allen.
“This is a tremendous win for Greenville County and South Carolina as a whole,” Allen said. “Isuzu’s decision to invest here underscores the strength of our workforce, our business-friendly environment, and our commitment to economic growth.”
The 1-million-square-foot facility will sit on more than 200 acres on Augusta Road and will be converted into an assembly plant expanding Isuzu’s vehicle supply capabilities for North America, according to the party. The facility will produce both internal combustion engine and electric vehicles.
“With this investment, we are not only creating jobs but also positioning Greenville as a leader in advanced vehicle manufacturing,” Allen said. “This project will provide hardworking South Carolinians with new opportunities and help drive long-term economic prosperity in our community.”
Operations at the new facility are expected to begin in 2027. Additional details on job opportunities and the application process will be released in the coming months, according to the party.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits to support the project, according to the S.C. Democratic Party.
