ORANGEBURG, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged a former Orangeburg Department of Public Safety officer with assault and battery, according to SLED.
Christopher James Tyler, 35, was charged Tuesday with second-degree assault and battery, SLED said.
The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety requested that SLED investigate, according to the agency. Additional details are contained in the arrest warrant, SLED said.
Tyler was booked into the Orangeburg County Detention Center, according to SLED.
The 1st Circuit Solicitor’s Office will prosecute the case, SLED said.
