The S.C. Commission on Higher Education is accepting proposals through Aug. 17 for sessions at its statewide convening on transfer and credit mobility.

The S.C. Commission on Higher Education is requesting proposals for session topics at the 2026 Transfer Excellence Convening, a statewide gathering focused on strengthening credit mobility, transfer pathways and student success, according to the commission.
The event builds on past convenings and the statewide Transfer Action Plan, and will highlight practices, tools and policies aimed at making credit more portable, transparent and applicable to degree completion, according to the commission.
The commission is welcoming proposals from faculty, advisors, registrars, student affairs professionals, transfer admissions professionals, institutional researchers, campus leaders and community and industry partners from research universities, teaching institutions, technical colleges and independent colleges statewide, according to the commission.
Proposed sessions should address credit mobility and transfer excellence with a clear connection to South Carolina students, institutions or policy. The commission said it especially encourages sessions on cross-sector partnerships, implementation of the statewide Transfer Action Plan, innovations in credit evaluation, data-informed approaches to monitoring credit loss and time to degree, use of technology tools, student voices, and workforce alignment.
Sessions may take the form of 45-minute interactive workshops, promising practice showcases or panel discussions, or 15-minute Transfer Excellence Briefs presented in a poster session format, according to the commission. Collaborative, cross-institutional proposals are strongly encouraged.
Each proposal must include a session title, primary contact and co-presenter information, a format, at least one focus area, a 200- to 300-word abstract, intended audience and learning outcomes, according to the commission. Proposals should also describe how the work can be replicated or scaled at other South Carolina institutions.
The call for proposals opens Monday, June 22, with a submission deadline of Monday, Aug. 17. Notifications of acceptance are expected Monday, Aug. 31, ahead of the convening, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13, according to the commission.
